A Two Day Class in the Laurinburg Studios of Soul Whispers Arts
March 3rd and 4th, 2012
$250

Using a small demitasse or souvenir spoon as the starting place, we will create a unique pendant piece with a soldered and resin-filled bezel and a riveted focal point you will design.  We will then hand make a chain on which to hang our “spoon-dangle”.  This is a great project for learning a wide variety of metalsmithing and jewelry skills.  Designed for beginning and intermediate students.  Limited to five students.

Overnight accommodations must be arranged by students. There are several options located within 1-2 miles of Soul Whispers ARts Studios. Comfort Inn, Holiday Inn Express and Jameson Inn are all in Laurinburg and very convenient.

Tube Tinkers Art Unraveled - Tuesday, August 7th from 9 - 4:30 in Phoenix, AZ

There is something incredibly appealing about the curved cylindrical form of a tiny tube. We will use copper pipe, recycled bullet casings, small hobby tubing, and other cylinders to create unique jewelry pieces and parts. Learn to cut, finish, drill, solder, cap and cold connect tubes to other jewelry components and complete one or more pieces in the class.

Other Classes Available

Most of the courses listed below can be taught as basic classes with no prior jewelry making experience necessary. Some are designed as evening or half-day classes while others are all-day or would require two consecutive evening classes. There are several which are 1 1/2 day classes for more intricate skills and projects. All classes can be adapted to the students and time frame available.

Class Kits - most classes have a minimal charge for a kit that will be provided by the instructor which includes the supplies necessary for the class.

There is a suggested participant tool/supply list which, in nearly every class, requires basic jewelry tools. Participants may “rent” these from the instructor for that class session if they prefer not to purchase their own, understanding that there are a limited number of rental tool kits available.
